Mayor of London Ken Livingstone has hit back at critics after being suspended temporarily for comments to a reporter.
He denied accusations that he had attempted to "smear" a Jewish Evening Standard reporter he had compared with a concentration camp guard.
He also denied implications that he had been anti-Semitic, saying he had fought an unrelenting war on racism as mayor.
The Standards Board for England's decision was an "attack on democratic rights of Londoners", he said.
More soon.
