A paranoid schizophrenic has been found guilty at the Old Bailey of attempting to kill five people who he stabbed during a spree of violence.
Ismail Dogan, 30, of Tottenham, north London, has already admitted the manslaughter of Ernest Meads, on the grounds of diminished responsibility.
He denied five attempted murder charges because his lawyers claimed his ill health meant he could not form intent.
Dogan carried out the attacks on 23 December 2004 in north London.
The defendant stabbed Mr Meads, 58, a father-of two, seven times, in Meridian Way, Edmonton.
The other five attacks took place within a six-mile radius between 0800 GMT and 0900 GMT.
David Symes, 31, was stabbed in Lacey Close, Edmonton; Roger Levy, 49, was attacked in Gladstone Avenue, Wood Green; Vicki Cann, 30, was pulled off her bike and stabbed in Tottenham; Raymond Day, 76, was stabbed in Empire Parade Edmonton and Jeffrey Arthur, 50, was attacked in Palmers Green.
