The chairman of one of Britain's biggest hotel and pub groups has begun a legal challenge against the planned smoking ban in Scotland.
Alan Bowes of the Swallow group has lodged petitions at the Court of Session in Edinburgh to delay the ban, claiming that it breaches human rights.
His motion for a judicial view of the legislation is expected to be heard on Tuesday.
The ban will come into force on 26 March.
