Four people have escaped from their sinking car after icy conditions caused it to skid from a road into a loch.
The driver and three passengers were being treated in hospital following the incident at 0300 GMT on South Uist.
The car ended up in an unnamed loch after leaving the A865 at Bornish. Northern Constabulary said no other vehicles were involved.
The group was spotted by Scottish Ambulance staff who were attending another call at the time.
It is understood that the four were able to get out of the car themselves.
The four people, who live locally, were being treated at the Uist and Barra Hospital where their injuries were not believed to be life threatening.
